ESTER-HADASE HALPERN

ESTER-HADASE HALPERN (1900-January 1981)
            She emigrated from Galicia to Buenos Aires.  She was active in Labor Zionism and Yiddish theater.  She worked as a Yiddish teacher in the teachers’ seminary in Buenos Aires.  She translated Dr. Theodor Herzl’s Dertseylungen un felyetonen (Stories and feature articles) (Buenos Aires: Kiem, 1955), xv, 213 pp.; and Dos togbukh fun ana frank (The diary of Anne Frank [original: Het achterhuis (The annex)]) (Buenos Aires: World Jewish Congress, 1958), 256 pp.  She died in Buenos Aires.
