HOFMAN
He lived in the middle of the
nineteenth century in Vilna. He was a Hebrew
teacher and author of several volumes of stories in Yiddish, such as: Der falsher feter, eyn kharakteristisher bild
fun idishn lebn in rusland (The fake uncle, a characteristic image of
Jewish life in Russia) (Vilna, 1880), 23 pp.
He also published (under the name Tsvi Hofman) Hebrew poetry in Hamagid (The preacher). His other biographical details remain
unknown.
