ZHAME (SIMON) DAVIDSON

ZHAME (SIMON) DAVIDSON (b. October 13, 1892)
            He was born in Horodok (Haradok), Byelorussia.  After completing high school, he lived in Lodz until 1939.  During WWII he was in Soviet Russia.  He then returned to Poland and later emigrated to Mexico.  In more recent years, he lived in San Antonio, Texas, where he worked as a librarian.  He was active in the Bund.  He wrote articles for Unzer tsayt (Out time) in New York and Foroys (Onward) in Mexico City.  In books: Mayne milkhome-yorn (My war years) (San Antonio, 1978), 347 pp.; Di nokh milkhome-vanderungen fun poyln september 1946 biz meksike yuni 1947 (Postwar wanderings from Poland in September 1946 to Mexico in June 1947) (San Antonio, 1984), 263 pp.
