ALTER ROZEN

ALTER ROZEN (b. 1884)

            He was born in Plantsh (Połaniec), Poland.  This was the Americanized form of his surname Rozenbursht.  In 1906 he emigrated to the United States.  He was the editor-publisher of the humorous Di sirakyuzer tsaytung (The Syracuse newspaper) (two issues appeared, 1915).  He wrote articles from time to time in Idisher kempfer (Jewish fighter), Yidishes tageblat (Jewish daily newspaper), and Philadelphia’s Idishe velt (Jewish world), among other serials.
