SHOYEL ROTKOP (January 10, 1903-April 6, 1966)
He was
born in Pabenits (Pabianice), Poland. He studied in religious elementary
school. In 1916 he moved to Germany and
in 1930 to Uruguay. He wrote for the
weekly newspaper Der moment (The
moment) and the daily Haynt (Today)
in which he published a novel entitled In
a fremd land, af fremder erd (In a foreign country, on alien soil)
(1962-1963) concerning the era of the Judges.
He died in Montevideo.
