JULIUS RAKOV (November 11, 1890-1941)
He was
an actor, born in Lodz. His Jewish given
name was Yekhiel. He performed on the
Yiddish stage in Lodz, Vilna, Riga, Kovno, and elsewhere. He translated into Yiddish: Tamten by Maskof (?), Geto (Ghetto) by H. Heiermann, and Daniel, Daniel by R. Foss (?); and he
dramatized Mendl beylis (Mendel
Beilis). He published short impressions
and translations in a variety of Yiddish periodical publications. He died in the Lodz ghetto.
