YOYSEF ROTKUM
He wrote
his surname as Rotkom. He was one of the
first authors of fables in Yiddish after Shloyme Etinger. He published in Kol mevaser (The herald) a few passable fables, such as: “Der poyer
un di shlang” (The farmer and the snake) 19 (1862); and “Di shlang un dos
shefel” (The snake and the lamb) 32 (1864).
