Y. TROK

Y. TROK (d. 1944)
He was a mechanical engineer, one of the builders and teachers at the Vilna Technicum of ORT (Association for the Promotion of Skilled Trades).  He was the author of the textbooks: Hekhere matematik (Higher mathematics); Vidershand fun materyaln (Resistance of materials); Grafishe static (Graphic statics); and Damf-keslen (Steam kettles)—all of which appeared between 1927 and 1939 in various editions.  Due to financial difficulties, they were published lithographically.  Trok was confined in the Vilna ghetto.  After the liquidation of the ghetto on September 23, 1943, he was deported to the Stutthof Concentration Camp where he was killed.
