MENASHE TSHARNOBRODE

MENASHE TSHARNOBRODE (1890-1943)
            He was born in Shedlets (Siedlce), Poland.  He studied in religious elementary school, synagogue study hall, and secular knowledge with private tutors.  He was a leader in the Jewish Folkspartey (People’s party) and its representative on the city council.  He published articles in: Shedletser viderkol (Shedlets echo), Shedletser lebn (Shedlets life), Dos vort (The word), which he edited with M. Mandelman in 1926-1927 in Shedlets; Shedletser vokhnblat (Shedlets weekly newspaper); and others.  During the Nazi occupation, he was confined in the Shedlets ghetto, from whence in 1943 he was deported to Treblinka and murdered there.
