Y. N. KAPLAN

            He was born in Libave (Liepāja), Latvia.  He was the author of Az s’iz bashert tsores (When troubles are destined) (Cape Town: Di Bin, 1922), 16 pp., and Gele un grine (Yellow and green) (Cape Town: Di Bin, 1922).  Both books were concerned with Jewish immigrants in South Africa.  He also wrote under the pen name Naki.  He died in an automobile accident.
