BLEKHMAN (September 1874-August 25, 1962)
He was born in Tshashnik (Čašniki),
Byelorussia. His Americanized surname
became: Blek. He studied in religious primary
school and yeshiva. From his youth he
was active in the Bund. On many
occasions he was arrested for Bundist activities. His Party name was “Abram der Tate” (Abram,
the father). In book form: Bleter fun mayn yugnt, zikhroynes fun a
bundist (Pages from my youth, memoirs of a Bundist) (New York: Unzer tsayt,
1959), 299 pp. He died in New York.
