YISROEL
BERKOVITSH (ISRAIL BERCOVICI) (December 20, 1921-1988)
He was born in Botoșani, Romania. He studied dentistry and later graduated from
university. Over the years 1955-1982, he
was the literary manager of the Bucharest Yiddish State Theater. He was the author and reviewer of variety
shows. He edited Ikuf-bleter (Pages from IKUF [Jewish Cultural Association]),
1948-1953, in Bucharest. For that serial
as well as for Vegvayzer (Guide), he
wrote articles and poems. In book form: In di oygn fun a shvartser kave, lider
