SHAYE BERGER

SHAYE BERGER (1907-January 1, 1974)
            He was born in Zinkev (Zinkiv), Ukraine.  He was a researcher in the field of Hebrew literature and folklore.  He wrote in Yiddish as well in Yivo-bleter (Pages from YIVO), 28.1 and 29.1: “Tsu di mekoyrim fun der ershter matone in peretses dray matones” (On the sources for the first gift in Peretz’s “Three Gifts”), among others.  He died in New York.
