ZELIK
BERKOVITSH (SELEK BERKOWITZ) (March 18, 1912-1989)
He
was born in Kłobuck. Poland. He
lived in Lodz where he survived the ghetto and later concentration camps. In 1946 he settled in Stockholm. He co-edited Yidish kultur in skandinavyen (Jewish culture in Scandinavia)
(Stockholm, issue no. 1, 1977). From
1974 he brought out periodically two published sheets in Yiddish. In book form: Opgenart di toytn (Deceiving the dead) (1972), 15 pp.; Mayn shtetl klobutsk, demonungen (My
town Kłobuck, remembrances) (1975), 126 pp.; A shpatsir ibern shtetl (A walk through the town) (1981), 68
pp. All the above works concerning Kłobuck
were published in Stockholm.
