ABE ABELSON (b. 1887)
Born in Dolhinov (Daŭhinava),
Belarus. Came to the United States in
1906. Editor of the New Haven monthly, Veker
(Alarm clock), the press organ of the Jewish branch of the Socialist Party
(issue #1, August 1912). Author of two
booklets of poetry: Nit haynt un nit amol (Neither now nor formerly),
stories and poems (New Haven, 1938), 59 pp.; and Nit keyn sakh (Not
much) (1941), 95 pp. Pseudonyms:
Ben-khayim, Aba Ben-khayim, and Ab. Abson, among others.
