YANKEV
ZHAGORSKI
He was a collector of published
Yiddish works in Latvia. In his home in
Riga, he had numerous published Yiddish rarities. He also compiled an assortment of
bibliographic listings—unfortunately, few of them were published. In Yivo-bleter
(Pages from YIVO) (Vilna) 4 (1932), pp. 88-89, there is a bibliographic list he
prepared of the Latsky-Bertoldi’s articles in Fraynd (Friend) in St. Petersburg.
What happened to him in the period of WWII remains unknown.
