YANKEV B”R FROYM KHOSID
He came from Grodno, Russian Poland.  He was the author of the work of ethics in Hebrew and stylized archaic Yiddish: Yishre-lev (Righteousness) (Vilna, 1867), 96 pp.  This short text was written in Grodno in 1804 in Hebrew and Yiddish verse with alphabetical initials to the lines and a reverse alphabetical one as well, with an acrostic featuring the author’s name, and full of numerous old Yiddish expressions from Lithuanian and Polish Yiddish of the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries.
