AVROM ROZEN (December 26, 1893-summer 1941)
A
playwright, he was born in Jassy (Iași), Romania.
He studied in religious elementary school. He completed his medical training in Jassy
and practiced in Paris. With H.
Kornblut, he wrote the melodrama Elterns
zind (Parents’ sin) and the mystical tragedy Greser di aveyre (Greater the transgression)—both performed in
Jassy. He was also said to have written
a play entitled Tsvishn tog un nakht afn
altn feld (Between day and night in the old field).
