YOYSEF-ARYE SHERISHEVSKI
He was
born in Vashilishok (Vasilishki), Grodno region. He was the author of the booklet Hanoded, tsehn naye moralishe lider in
yudisher shprakh, der na venad (The wanderer, ten new moralistic poems in
Yiddish, the wanderer), [second title page:] Hanoded: “The traveler / A new guest / Cooked with meat / These
years writing / Good news / Every last person, every Jew / You shall be filled
with joy / Through the fresh new poem / Good ethics and morals in his objective
/ From Ya”sh, native of Vasilishki” (Baksht: Yitskhok-Moyshe, 1843), > 72
pp. The name of the author is clear from
his few words to his mother.
