DOVID-LEYZER
YELINOVITSH (1899-1922)
He was born in Volpe (Wołpa),
near Grodno, Russian Poland. He
published poems and stories in local periodicals in Vilna, Grodno, Slonim, and
Volkovisk (Wołkowysk). He
died of tuberculosis, having left in manuscript poetry, ballads, a long novel Der nyeman (The Neman [River]), and
stories about life in Jewish communities.
The manuscripts are in the hands of relatives in Israel and have as yet
not been published in book form.
