LEYMENZON-ENGELSHTERN (July 12, 1915-July 12, 1955)
She was born in Vilna. She studied in a Polish Jewish high
school. She survived the Vilna ghetto
and was hidden by a peasant. At the end
of 1949 she came to New York. She
described her experiences in Farshribn in
a shayer, 15ter may 1944-19ter yuli 1944 (Recorded in a barn, May 15,
1944-July 19, 1944) (Tel Aviv: Hakibuts hameuḥad, 1973), 134 pp., [posthumously] prepared for
publication by Y. Rudnitski. She died in
New York.
