SHLOYME VASERMAN (SOLOMON WASSERMAN)

SHLOYME VASERMAN (SOLOMON WASSERMAN) (March 15, 1898-May 2, 1984)
            He was born in a village near Chelm, Poland.  He lived in Chelm and worked as a tailor.  In 1922 he moved to the United States.  He published stories and reportage pieces in: Morgn frayhayt (Morning freedom), Yidishe kultur (Jewish culture), and Zamlungen (Anthologies) in New York.  In book form: Heymishe mentshn (Familiar people) (New York: IKUF, 1948), 207 pp.; Mentshn in mayn lebn (People in my life) (New York: Ikuf, 1967), 308 PP.  He died in New York.
