MOYSHE VOLMAN

MOYSHE VOLMAN (1904-1944)
            He was born in Lodz, into a working-class family.  From his youth he was a laborer.  He was active in the Bundist youth organization “Tsukunft” (Future).  He published poetry and articles on literature and theater in Foroys (Onward) in Warsaw, Inzl (Island) in Lodz, Os (Letter) in Lodz-Warsaw, and Lodzher veker (Lodz alarm), among other serials.  Confined in the Lodz ghetto, he was one of the founders of Miriam Ulyanover’s literary circle.  During the liquidation of the ghetto, he was deported to Auschwitz and murdered there.
