TSVI TSELMAN (b. 1913)
He was
born in the town of Soroke (Soroki), Bessarabia. In 1934 he came to Bucharest and studied at
the university there. He was a member of
the young poets’ group “Yung rumenye” (Young Romania) and contributed poetry to
its publications. In book form: Maskn-karahod, lid un tefile (Circle of
masks, poem and prayer) (Bucharest, 1939), 64 pp. Although influenced by the French
surrealists, his poems possessed their own lyrical tone. Since WWII there has been no information
about him.
