YOYSEF-EMANUEL
COHEN (b. December 13, 1909)
He was born in Kolomaye, eastern
Galicia. He served as chairman of the Zionist
Jewish State Party (Meir Grossman’s group) in eastern Galicia. In 1940 he moved to Israel. He served in the British army (until
1946). For a time he was general
secretary of the world union of the Ḥerut
Revisionists and a member of Vaad Hapoel (Zionist General Council) of the
Zionist World Organization. He also
worked with the Jewish Agency. He edited
the Revisionist weekly newspapers: Der
kamf (The fight) in Lemberg (1928-1935) and Idisher kemfer (Jewish fighter) in Paris (1936-1939). He contributed as well to Unzer veg (Our way) in Warsaw, and to
the Polish Jewish press in Galicia. In
later years he worked as a lawyer in Tel Aviv.
