ZALMEN-YUDL YOFE

ZALMEN-YUDL YOFE
            From 1898 he was a teacher in Hebrew schools in Warsaw.  During WWI he served as inspector of the Hebrew public schools in Poland.  He contributed to literary and pedagogical periodicals, among other items publishing a series of articles entitled “Di muter un dos kind” (The mother and the child) in Haynt (Today) in Warsaw (1923-1924).  In book form: Pestalotsis leben un shafung, baarbet nokh farsheydene kveln (Pestalozzi’s life and work, adapted from various sources) (Vilna: Ḥevra mefitse haskala, 1913), 60 pp.  In 1925 he settled in Israel where he was active in Hebrew school curricula.
