YANKEV
KATZ (1907-December 11, 1968)
He was born in Zhilkevke (Żółkiewka),
Lublin district, Poland. During WWII he
was confined in Nazi ghettos and death camps.
After liberation he was in displaced persons camps in Germany, and it
was there that he wrote the book Milkhome-zikhroynes
(War memoirs), chapters of which were published, from June 1945, in Morgn-zhurnal (Morning journal) in New
York. He died in Haifa.
