BEN-TSIEN SIDILKOVSKI

            Journalist, prose writer, and teacher, he lived in Odessa.  He wrote storybooks which from the early 1920s were published by the Odessa publishing house of Blimelekh (Little flowers), Ukrainian State Publishers, and Kultur-lige (Culture league).  His works include: Far idishe kinder, an alef-beys far shuln un kinder-heymen (For Jewish children, an alphabet for schools and children’s homes), edited by the literary-pedagogical commission at the Odessa division of the Jewish Democratic Teachers’ Association (Odessa: Blimelekh, 1920), 120 pp.; In di gertner, af di felder (In the gardens, in the fields), textbook following the alphabet (Odessa, 1921); Ketsl-mirke un hintl-sirke (Mirke the kitten and Sirke the puppy) (Odessa: Kultur-lige, 1921), 20 pp.; Der retekh (The radish) (Odessa, 1921), 9 pp.
