YISROEL BELKHATOVSKI

YISROEL BELKHATOVSKI (b. June 9, 1908)
            He was born in Lodz.  From 1916 he was living in Radom and Warsaw.  In 1931 he emigrated to Paris.  During WWII he was saved by being hidden.  He wrote for Arbeter vort (Workers’ word) and Unzer vort (Our word) in Paris.  He contributed biographies for Sh. Shvaytser’s Shures poyle-tsien, portretn (Rows of Labor Zionism, portraits) (Tel Aviv, 1981).  He was living in Paris.  Among his books: Fun a lebn vos iz nishto mer, dermonungen (From a life that is no more, remembrances) (Tel Aviv: Peretz Publ., 1973), 272 pp.
