WILLIAM ARON

WILLIAM ARON (1903-May 1973)

            He was born in Hamburg and received a traditional education.  He was awarded his doctorate from Hamburg University with a dissertation on Rambam’s philosophy.  He was for many years a contributor to scholarly YIVO publications.  His last work—appearing in Yivo bleter (Pages from YIVO) XLIV—was entitled “Konstantin bruner un dos yidntum” (Konstantin Brunner and Judaism).  He specialized in the history of Jewish families.
