MALKE GOTFRID (GOTTFRIED)

MALKE GOTFRID (GOTTFRIED) (b. April 1907)
            She was born in Antepolye (Antopol), Poland.  She emigrated to Hartford, Connecticut in 1920.  She studied in high school and later worked as a nurse.  From 1953 she published poems in Morgn frayhayt (Morning freedom), Yidishe kultur (Jewish culture), and Zamlungen (Anthologies) in New York; Kalifornyer shriftn (California writings).  She works include: Freyd un vunder (Joy and wonder), poetry (New York: IKUF, 1965), 190, 33 pp.  She was living in Laguna Hills, California.  Her husband, Zori Gotfrid (b. February 1, 1904, in Bialystok) frequently published articles on music in Morgn frayhayt and Yidishe kultur.
