MALKE
GOTFRID (GOTTFRIED) (b. April 1907)
She was born in Antepolye (Antopol),
Poland. She emigrated to Hartford,
Connecticut in 1920. She studied in high
school and later worked as a nurse. From
1953 she published poems in Morgn
frayhayt (Morning freedom), Yidishe
kultur (Jewish culture), and Zamlungen
(Anthologies) in New York; Kalifornyer
shriftn (California writings). She
works include: Freyd un vunder (Joy
and wonder), poetry (New York: IKUF, 1965), 190, 33 pp. She was living in Laguna Hills, California. Her husband, Zori Gotfrid (b. February 1,
1904, in Bialystok) frequently published articles on music in Morgn frayhayt and Yidishe kultur.
