PEYSEKH
BURSHTEYN (April 15, 1896-April 11, 1986)
He was an artist, born in Warsaw. At age six he moved with his parents to
Berdyansk, Russia, where he studied in religious elementary school and
graduated from a Russian public school. His
entire life, he acted on the Yiddish stage in various countries. In 1923 he emigrated to the United
States. In book form: Geshpilt a lebn (Played a life) (Tel
Aviv, 1980), 358 pp. He died in New
York.
