LEON
BILMES (1900-October 30, 1962)
He was born in Holoskov (Holoskove),
Ukraine, and emigrated to the United States in the 1920s. He lived in New York and from 1949 in Los
Angeles. His work appeared in American Jewish
publications. In book form: Amol iz geven a shtetl (There was once a
town) (Tel Aviv, 1963), 212 pp. He died
in Los Angeles.
