SH. L. SHMUELSON
(d. November 30, 1941)
The author of fables, he was born in
Riga, where he lived his whole life. He wrote
fables for the Riga daily newspaper Frimorgn
(Morning), for which he was frequently co-editor, as well as for Riger shriftn (Riga writings) and the
Kovno Yiddish press. In book form: Mesholim (Fables), 2 vols. (Riga: Bikher
far ale, 1935), 38 pp. and 27 pp. He
also translated a great deal from Latvian into Yiddish. He died in the Riga ghetto.
