(PHILIP) VEYMAN
He was born in Mohilev,
Byelorussia. He studied in religious
elementary school and in a public school, later working with his father as a
tailor. He subsequently lived in Vienna,
Paris, and Chicago. From 1917 he
published poetry in such Chicago publications as: Kalmen Marmor’s daily Velt (World), Idishe arbayter velt (Jewish world of labor), Idisher rekord (Jewish record), Idishe
prese (Jewish press), and the anthology In
nepl (In fog), among others
