AVROML BROKHES (d. 1943)
He was the son of a well-known Vilna photographer. He was active in Communist Youth League
circles in Vilna. He began journalistic
work with Byalistoker shtern (Bialystok star), 1940-1941, and he
published articles in Emes (Truth) in Kovno. He was evacuated from Bialystok to Soviet
Russia where he continued his work as a journalist. He volunteered to fight in the Red Army, and
he fell in the Battle of Leningrad early in 1943.
