SHABSAI ARONSON (AHRNSON)

SHABSAI ARONSON (AHRNSON) (b. March 1887)
Born in Kovno.  Until age fifteen he studied in yeshiva.  From 1901 he was living in the United States.  Until 1908 he was active in the Labor Zionist movement.  From 1908 he was a dentist in New York.  He was the author of a pamphlet entitled Di yidishe lage (The Jewish situation), published by Chevra Zion in Odessa.  He published sketches and articles in Di naye shtime (The new voice) in New York, Der yid (The Jew) in New York in 1904 (edited by Avrom Goldberg and D. Oberson), Der yid in London in 1904 (edited by Kalmen Marmor), and Yidishes tageblat (Jewish daily news).  Together with Goldberg and Sh. Litvin, he edited the quarterly publication Di naye shtime (New York), and he was a cofounder of Der yidisher kemfer (The Jewish fighter) in New York.  He used the pen names: Sh. A. and Ben-Aron.
