ARNOLD KISH

ARNOLD KISH (November 2, 1869-November 14, 1940)
He was born Khayim-Tsvi Kleyn in Ungvár (Uzhhorod), Hungary.  He was among the most popular Hungarian Jewish writers of his day.  His achievement for Yiddish was to translate into Hungarian Morris Rozenfeld’s poetry, published in a large volume together with the original in transcription.  He also translated several works by Frug, Perets, and Mendele Moykher-Sforim.  He died in Budapest.
