BEN-TSIEN POLIPADE

BEN-TSIEN POLIPADE (b. 1876)

            He was born in a village in Kiev Province, Ukraine.  For a time he lived in Kherson district.  He acted in theater with various traveling troupes in Ukraine and Galicia.  In 1923 he traveled through Buenos Aires and guest performed throughout the Argentinian provinces and in the Jewish colonies.  His memoirs were published in Di prese (The press) in Buenos Aires, later published in book form as: Zikhroynes fun a halbn yorhundert idish teater (Memoirs from a half-century of Yiddish theater) (Buenos Aires, 1946), 460 pp.
