YOYSEF PAKRASO


YOYSEF PAKRASO (b. April 10, 1868)
            He was born in Brusilov (Brusyliv), Kiev district, Ukraine.  He lived in Kiev and published articles in the Russian, Hebrew, and Yiddish press, in: Hamelits (The advocate) in Odessa; Hatsfira (The siren) and elsewhere in Warsaw; and in Sholem Aleichem’s Yudishe folksbiblyotek (Jewish people’s library) (Kiev) 2 (1889), he published his adaptation (following Graetz), “Di maranen oder di anusim in shpanyen” (The Marranos or anusim in Spain).  He also contributed to Yidishe folksblat (Jewish people’s newspaper) in St. Petersburg.
