AVROM
POLIVA (b. 1908)
He
was born in Yedzhev (Jędrzejów), Kielce
Voivodeship. He later moved to
Warsaw. He began writing poetry when
quite young. He published poems and
essays in the Yiddish press in Poland.
With the outbreak of WWII, he fled to the Donbas and worked as a coal miner. In 1939 he arrived in Lutsk a sick man. There are various versions of his death. In book form: Originaln (Originals), about community and cultural life in his
hometown (Warsaw).
