PINKHES GUTERMAN

PINKHES GUTERMAN (b. December 24, 1906)

            He was born in Miechów, Lublin region, Poland.  He was raised in a Hassidic household.  He later made aliya to Israel.  He began writing in 1942.  He was published in Letste nayes (Latest news) in 1951, Dos vort (The word) in 1953, and Dos idishe tsaytung (The Jewish newspaper)—all in Tel Aviv.  In 1952 he brought out a booklet of stories drawn from the lives of workers, entitled Mayn shtetl (My town) (Ramat-Gan), 45 pp.  He was living in the state of Israel.
