MENDL BERTSHENKO
He was born (or lived) in Zhmerynka,
Ukraine. He authored a booklet entitled Yitfekhs
tokhter (Yiftach’s daughter): “her last day, a sorrowful play in one act
with music, Odessa, 1894, 16 pp.” Two
poems were printed at the end. This book
may be found in the Leo Winer Collection at Harvard University.
